So this pass weekend July 9 I took a trip down to Old Town Pasadena (which for those of you that don't know is in Southern CA). I had an appt. at the Apple store to get my iPhone 4 replaced for the second time (which was a whole lot of drama and bs). So while down there I planned on stopping by places I don't get to go to much due to the fact that I don't want to drive 1 1/2 hours or more if there's L.A. traffic just to buy a few things. Well one of these places happen to be LUSH. I have order from the www.lush.com site but never been to a free standing store. So after my Apple appt. and dinner at The Melting Pot. I pop into LUSH. Now even before stepping foot into the store, I was hit with strong overpowering smells (which did give me a little headache but after about 10 mins. I was ok). The store was small but not cramped. And the only off putting thing was the loud techno music (which I could have done with out). I wasn't greeted right away, (which wasn't to big of an issue because I'm not one for pushy overbearing sales people). And when I did need help I was joined by a very friendly sales person who was more then willing answer questions and show me around. I only picked up 3 items and 2 samples. But my haul was well worth the trip. I like the fact that LUSH uses as little packaging as possible. And also that their yellow bags can stuck into a compost heaps or recycling bins marked for compost (I'm not sure if this done everywhere where you get 3 bins from Waste Management one for trash, one for recycling cans, bottles etc. and one for compost recycle such as grass, leafs, trees etc.). And that LUSH is a mostly vegan company. I am very happy with the items I picked up and I do plan on going back in a few months to stock up when the winter items come out. So over all my first time in a LUSH store was fun. And I can't wait to do it again.
